Halq and Taqsir

Halq and Taqsir are the final steps of Umrah, done after completing Tawaf and Sa’i.

Halq means shaving the entire head and is recommended for men.

Taqsir means trimming a small portion of the hair and is also allowed, especially for those not doing Hajj.

Women only perform Taqsir by cutting a small portion of their hair, usually from the end. This act symbolizes humility and renewal, and it marks the completion of Umrah.
