Makkah is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the site of the Kaaba, located within the Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque). Every year, millions of Muslims from around the world travel to Makkah to perform Hajj and Umrah, important Islamic pilgrimages. Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the city, which is deeply spiritual and central to Islamic faith and practice.
